Company - Firm History
Danville
The old western town of Danville, California, dates back to the Gold Rush. In 1854, brothers Daniel and Andrew Inman purchased 400 acres in what is now Old Town Danville with their mining proceeds. Eight years later, the first Danville postmaster reported a population of 20 living in the town proper.
Danville truly appeared on the map in 1891 when Southern Pacific Railroad came to town. Around that time, John Hartz sold 8.65 acres for the Danville railroad station and granted land access to the depot. He subdivided and sold lots east of the station, including the land upon which the Doyle House was built.
Doyle HouseThe Doyle House, present day location of the Law Offices of Terence Daniel Doyle (shown below), was built in 1898. At the time, Danville had already grown from a blacksmith shop to a farm and thriving railroad town.
This stately Victorian cottage is one of the several historical homes remaining in Danville today. The Doyle House was renovated in 1998, along with the addition of 1,500 square feet. The building is registered as number three in the town's recorded historical landmarks. The house was named The Doyle House contemporaneously with the registration of the building with the Danville Historical Resource Commission in 1998
